What methods enable rapid and cost-effective quantification of mycotoxins in food, feed, and seed?

  • Simultaneous quantification of multiple mycotoxins in one sample | Food/Animal Feed

You need to know this if …

You want to combine the advantages of multiplexing technology with the benefits of cost-effectiveness and speed.

Our Recommendation / our Product

Conventional methods for mycotoxin detection are HPLC and ELISA. HPLC offers a multiplexing approach in which several mycotoxins can be reliably quantified in one test. Immunoassays such as ELISA are simple and cost-effective.

The disadvantage of conventionally used HPLC is that this high-quality method is very time-consuming. It is also costly and requires extensively trained and highly qualified laboratory personnel.

The disadvantage of immunoassays lies particularly in their high susceptibility to errors and the fact that only one mycotoxin can be analyzed per test.

The combination of the mycotoxin test kit, based on SAFIA multiplexing technology, and a suitable flow cytometer enables mycotoxin quantification that is up to 90% faster and up to 75% more cost-effective, without sacrificing the advantage of being able to analyze several toxins simultaneously with low susceptibility to errors.

Therefore, depending on the area of application, we recommend the following mycotoxin test kits in combination with a Sysmex Partec flow cytometer:

For example, the Mycotoxins Field Toxins Kit is suitable for corn, with which fumonisin (FUM), T-2 toxin (T-2), deoxynivalenol (DON) and zearalenone (ZEN) can be reliably detected.

For example, for dried fruit, nuts, spices, fruits, juices and wine, we recommend the Mycotoxins Storage Toxins Kit, which specializes in aflatoxin (AFL) and ochratoxin A (OTA).

For example, for cereals and soy, the Mycotoxins Screening Kit offers a comprehensive solution for the detection of FUM, T-2, DON, ZEN, AFL and OTA – ideal for a broad-based control of various mycotoxins.
